Frequently Asked Questions What is EVTA of BC? The EVTA of BC is an Association comprised of maintenance personnel and associated vendors within the Emergency Services field. The Association was formed in 2007 as a nonprofit Society under the Societies Act, providing both transparency in its operation and a democratically elected body. This gives the members control of the Association and its function. The purpose of the EVTA of BC is to facilitate training and promote educational processes. EVTA of BC offers a platform to network with other technicians on matters regarding emergency vehicle/apparatus maintenance, repair, guidelines and standards. EVTA of BC encourages technicians to have input in the development of these issues. Why should I join EVTA of BC? The goals of the Association is to help promote improved standards for emergency vehicle maintenance and to advance the Emergency Vehicle Technician profession. EVTA of BC holds Annual Training Seminars providing workshops which include instruction by leading industry professionals. Our Seminars offer a place to network, enhance skills, and further education for already licensed mechanics as well as supply good basic training for non-licensed and semi-skilled maintenance personnel. These annual events also offer exposure to a wide variety of trade related vendors and suppliers offering an important direct contact for both parties. How do I join EVTA of BC? DUES: Active Members (hands on mechanics and maintenance personnel) - $50 Note: Non-members will pay full price for conference package. Paid members will receive a discount. Active Member status provides privileges such as a discount in the Annual Training Conferences, voting rights, access to website forums. Other administration staff may be added to the mailing list. Note: A company may have individuals whom also qualify as an Active member, being hands on installers, builders or maintenance personnel.
